Who We Are

The American National Catholic Church is a vibrant, welcoming community of faith rooted in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. We celebrate the Catholic tradition while embracing the call to inclusivity, justice, and compassion in our worship and daily lives. Our mission is to live the Gospel in a way that meets people where they are, honors their dignity, and affirms God’s unconditional love for all.

We are part of the independent Catholic movement, which maintains valid sacramental life and apostolic succession while seeking to respond to the needs of today’s world with openness, integrity, and pastoral care. We welcome all who seek a spiritual home, regardless of marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or background.

Our communities are places where questions are encouraged, tradition is honored, and the Spirit is alive in both ancient ritual and contemporary witness. We are committed to walking together as disciples, loving God and neighbor, and building a church that reflects the inclusivity of God’s kingdom.

Our differentials

The Ordination of Women

In the American National Catholic Church, women are fully welcomed into ordained ministry as priests, deacons, and bishops. We affirm the equal call of all genders to serve God’s people. Just as Mary bore the Word made flesh, so too can women make Him present in the Eucharist.

Welcoming the Divorced

The American National Catholic Church welcomes divorced persons fully into the life of the Church. We recognize relationships can fail, yet we believe in resurrection and new beginnings. Divorced persons may receive the Eucharist and remarry without undergoing an annulment process, trusting in God’s healing and grace.

LGBTQ+ Inclusion

The American National Catholic Church joyfully affirms LGBTQ+ persons as beloved children of God. They are welcome to participate fully in the life of the Church, including ordination to ministry and the sacrament of marriage. Believe God does not create mistakes, we celebrate their gifts, honor their relationships, and affirm God’s love without condition or exclusion.

Open Communion

The American National Catholic Church practices open communion, welcoming all who seek Christ to the Lord’s table. We believe the Eucharist is a gift of grace, not a reward for perfection. All are invited to encounter Christ’s presence and be nourished in faith, hope, and love, without barrier or exclusion.
